Police Arrest Disturbed Man on Maple Avenue

A 31-year-old White Plains man faces a misdemeanor charge after police say he created a disturbance near the intersection of Maple and Longview Avenues Tuesday night.

Police responded to the area after hearing reports that the emotionally disturbed man was threatening that he had a weapon at about 11:30 p.m. Police asked the man to get on the ground upon arrival, but the man refused and walked away, according to arrest reports.

The man was eventually brought under control and placed under arrest. He did not have a weapon, according to arrest reports, but the man was charged with obstructing government administration, a misdemeanor.
