Police Charge 2 Sleeping Drivers With DWI
The following arrest reports were provided by the White Plains Police Department, they do not indicate a conviction.

Two drivers police say passed out behind the wheel of their vehicles early Sunday morning have been charged with driving while intoxicated.
The first incident occurred at about 3:30 a.m. when police say they found a 23-year-old Port Chester man asleep in his vehicle at the intersection of South Broadway and Maple Avenue.

According to police, the vehicle's keys were still in the ignition when they arrived at the scene.
After waking the man up, police say he struggled to stand and smelled heavily of alcohol. There was also an open alcohol container inside the vehicle, police say. The driver was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated before he was released to White Plains Hospital for treatment.

About 40 minutes later, police responded to a similar incident near the intersection of Central Avenue and White Plains Road. There, police say a 33-year-old Mt. Kisco man was behind the wheel of his vehicle and asleep with the keys in the ignition.
Police opened the door, removed the keys and woke the man up. Reports indicate the driver smelled of alcohol and struggled to keep his balance once out of his seat. Police also found an open beer bottle in the vehicle, according to arrest reports.
The driver was charged with driving while intoxicated and transported to police headquarters where he was released on $250 bail.
