Police Charge 5 Protestors With Trespassing

The following arrest information was provided by the White Plains Police Department, it does not indicate a conviction.

A group of protestors face misdemeanor trespassing charges after police say they ran inside of a White Plains office building and refused to leave.

The group, three males and two females, are all from Vermont and between 26 and 31 years old. Police say the group ran past security and got onto an elevator inside the Entergy Building at 440 Hamilton Avenue at about 11:50 a.m. Thursday.

Once in the elevator, police say the group took a ride to the 12th floor and refused to leave. When police arrived they say several requests to leave the building were ignored and all five were charged with misdemeanor criminal trespass.

During the arrests, police took two flash cards and a flip video camera into evidence.

According to police, the group had been protesting outside the building for a few days before deciding to run inside.
