Police: Macy's Worker Swipes $350 Gift Card

The following arrest information was provided by the White Plains Police Department, it does not indicate a conviction.

An 18-year-old employee was arrested Thursday afternoon after police say she stole a $350 gift card and used it to buy merchandise from the store.

Security at Macy's noticed the possible theft about a week after they say the woman activated the card without paying for it while working at a cash register. Macy's security then checked store video surveillance to identify the woman.

Police say the woman used the card during the following week on various items from the store.

Police charged the woman with petit larceny, a misdemeanor. She was released to her mother on $500 bail.
