Police Make 7 Arrests Following St. Patrick's Parade

The following arrest information was provided by the White Plains Police Department, they do not indicate a conviction.

 

The  kept police busy Saturday, as seven people were cited for disorderly conduct outside of White Plains bars in the hours following the parade.

Two of those cited were also charged with misdemeanors after police say their actions became violent.

A Bronx man, 31, received a misdemeanor resisting arrest charge in addition to disorderly conduct after police say he threw a closed-fist punch at a restaurant owner just after 10 p.m.

Police responded after noticing the man arguing with restaurant security. As they approached, police say the man took a swing at the restaurant's owner. While police tried to handcuff the man, they say he took a swing at a responding police officer as well.

The man was placed under arrest and held for arraignment the following day.

A 24-year-old New City man also faces a misdemeanor charge after police say he pushed and attempted to punch a police officer on South Lexington Avenue.

Police were responding to another incident at 77 South Lexington Avenue at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday when they say the man approached an officer, shoved him with two hands and attempted a closed-fist punch, grazing the officer's head.

The officer was able to bring the suspect to the ground, arresting him at the scene. The man was charged with third-degree attempted assault—a misdemeanor—and disorderly conduct—a violation. He was held for court.

Police cited five others for disorderly conduct in the hours following the parade:

  • A Putnam Valley man was cited for disorderly conduct after police say he began instigating a fight with pedestrians at about 3:30 p.m. Police say the man, 24, was upset that he had been kicked out of  on Mamaroneck Avenue for fighting. The man was arrested and held for court.
  • A 24-year-old Danbury, CT, man was cited with disorderly conduct at about 6:45 p.m. after police say he was cursing at security guards who threw him out of . Security told police the man was thrown out for fighting. The man was processed and released on $100 bail.
  • Police cited a Pleasantville man with disorderly conduct at about 6 p.m. after security kicked him out of . Police say the man, 21, was cited after he refused to leave the area and began instigating fights with people nearby. The man was later released on $100 bail.
  • At about 7:30 p.m., a 26-year-old Yonkers man was cited for disorderly conduct after he was kicked out of on Mamaroneck Avenue. Police say the man became upset when police wouldn't allow him back inside to find his friends and an item he had left behind. Police say the man was placed under arrest after he began yelling at staff and customers from the parking lot behind the bar. The man was held for court.
  • A 21-year-old Greenwich, CT, man was charged with disorderly conduct just before 10 p.m. after police say he tried to force his way back into  after security threw him out. Security told police the man had been arguing with female customers.

Police also report that two buildings sustained damage early Sunday morning.

A plate glass window outside of Anne's Hair Salon on East Post Road was shattered at about 4:30 a.m. A witness in the area heard the glass shatter, but told police he did not see anyone in the area by the time he arrived.

A glass window/door at the Christian Science Reading Room at 215 Mamaroneck Avenue was also damaged. Police believe someone used a flowerpot to shatter the window early Sunday morning. There were no witnesses in the area when the glass was shattered.
