Police: Man Arrested After Hitting Girlfriend

A domestic dispute inside a North Broadway home landed a City man in police custody facing assault and child endangerment charges, police say.
Police responded to the home at about 12:30 p.m. Monday after receiving a call from a woman reporting her boyfriend had become violent. When police arrived they found a 35-year-old man sitting on the curb in front of the home. The man's girlfriend was inside nursing a cut to her right eye.
The woman told police her boyfriend had struck her and that she would like to press charges. The couple's daughter was home during the dispute and saw the incident take place, according to arrest reports.

Police took the woman and daughter to headquarters for a statement.
The man was arrested and charged with assault, menacing and endangering the welfare of a child, all misdemeanors. He was held for court.
