Police: Shoplifting Attempt Thwarted at Sears

The following arrest information was provided by the White Plains Police Department, it does not indicate a conviction.

A White Plains teenager was arrested this week after police say she stuffed more than $250 worth of clothing into her purse and and tried to walk out of the store.

Security stopped the 18-year-old as she tried to walk out of the store at 100 Main Street at about 3 p.m. Monday, police say. The woman was arrested and held for court.

Sears estimated the value of the clothes to be $268.98.
