The following arrest information was provided by the White Plains Police Department, it does not indicate a conviction.

White Plains Police have charged a Connecticut woman with three felony charges after they say she tried to steal another woman's personal information to buy a pair of $770 shoes.

Security at Nordstrom in White Plains called police at about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday after noticing several inconsistencies as Shauntay Ellis, 25, tried to apply for a store credit card, police say.

Ellis, of 182 Bradford Ave., Groton, Ct, was using a driver's license and credit cards that belonged to a woman from Pennsylvania, police say. Store officials noticed that Ellis had altered the other woman’s license to show her photo, arrest reports said.

Police contacted the owner of the license and credit card, who told them she did not authorize the purchase and wished to press charges.

A search of Ellis revealed the altered license and credit card. Police also determined that Ellis had forged the woman's signature in an effort to buy the shoes.
