Police: Woman Uses Child's Carriage to Shoplift

A 45-year-old Yonkers woman faces misdemeanor charges after police say she used a child's carriage to conceal items she was trying to steal from Sears.
After entering the store with her child at about 5 p.m. Sunday, police say the woman selected two children's dresses, two packs of underwear, a scarf, a pair of pants and a polo shirt and hid them under her child in a carriage.
The woman then tried to walk out of the store without paying, but was stopped by security, according to arrest reports. The value of the goods in the carriage was $224.99, police said.

After booking the woman at police headquarters, police charged her with petit larceny, a misdemeanor. Child Protective Services were called in to investigate and the woman was released on $500 bail.
