Roads Are Slippery: Here is Your Evening Commuter Update

White Plains is slushy and grey. See our photo gallery of the icy city Tuesday morning, and learn how the weather is going to affect your evening commute.

Though we got away easy with only an inch of morning snow and ice—the afternoon and evening rains are soaking roads, making Tuesday night's rush hour a slippery situation.

Local roads in the region are mostly wet, but with some ice and slush patches. If you must travel, drive slowly and carefully. The same conditions are also reported on I-95 (exits 8-22), I-287 (exits 1-12) and 1-87 (exits 1-16), according to the New York State Thruway Authority.

Bee-Line buses and ParaTransit is operating, on or close to schedule. Routes 8 and 32 are on a standard snow detour. The Westchester County Airport is open.  For more information on their carrier's flight information call 914-813-7777 or click here.

Metro-North’s New Haven Line is operating with 10 to 15 minutes delays between New Haven and Stamford. There will be morning peak schedule changes to the New Haven Line Wednesday due to repairs. The Newburgh-Beacon Ferry is operating on a winter contingency schedule.

The MTA Bus Company is experiencing scattered delays. New York City Subways and other Metro-North trains are running on schedule. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is warning customers to be careful when standing on platforms, staircases and when boarding trains, subways and buses due to slippery conditions.
