Westchester Man Killed After Being Struck By Yankee Clipper Train
The Yankee Stadium-bound train was pulling into the White Plains station this morning when the 42-year-old, who was on the tracks, was hit.

WHITE PLAINS, NY — A tragic incident marred an otherwise leisurely Saturday morning, according to MTA police.
On Saturday, at 11:26 a.m., the southbound Metro-North Train 7620, with scheduled service from Southeast to Yankee Stadium, was entering the White Plains station when it struck a 42 year-old man, who police say was not authorized to be on the tracks.
An initial investigation, that included video review, found that no one else was involved in the incident, and no foul play is suspected, according to the MTA. There were no injuries to passengers or crew.

The victim was pronounced D.O.A. by responding EMS at 11:45 a.m. MTAPD is the lead investigating agency, and says the investigation remains ongoing.
The victim has been identified as 42-year-old Alexander Newman, of White Plains.

Around 150 passengers were discharged from the train onto the platform at the White Plains station, where they were able to board the next train to get to their scheduled destination.
