Westchester Roadways Icy, But Mostly Open

Conditions are reported as a "mix of rain and sleet causing an ice condition."

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — As sleet and snow continue to fall in the Hudson Valley, most of Westchester County's parkways are open, but caution is still warranted.

The Bronx River, Hutchinson River, Cross County and Playland parkways are all open as of 10:20 a.m. Friday. Conditions are reported as a "mix of rain and sleet causing an ice condition."

The Saw Mill River Parkway is partially closed because of a previous rollover accident. Officials said it has been cleared but the vehicle will remain in a wooded area until it can be safely towed Friday afternoon.

Conditions on the Saw Mill are also icy due to a mix of rain and sleet.

Police report that state DOT, county DPW and local departments are out sanding the roadways.
