White Plains 10-Year-Old Wins Gold At Jiu-Jitsu Competition

WHITE PLAINS, NY — A White Plains 10-year-old won a gold medal in her category at the 2021 Pan American IBJJF Jui-Jitsu Championship held in Florida Saturday and Sunday.
Raina Tumminello, 10, won the Rooster Class competition Saturday at the Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee, Florida.
She won a silver medal at last year's Pan American Games, according to her father Joey Tumminello.

Raina Tumminello, who attends Church Street School in White Plains, trains at Essential Jiu-Jitsu in Hartsdale.
"It feels great," Tumminello told Patch about her win.
