White Plains Man Pleads Guilty to Stabbing St. Vincent's Case Worker

Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore announced that 28-year-old Jamile Wilson of 235 South Lexington Ave., in White Plains pled guilty today to:

• one count of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, a class “B” Violent Felony, the top count in the indictment.

The charge stemmed from an incident that occurred on January 19, 2011.

At approximately 10:15 am on that date, the victim, who was a case worker with St. Vincent Hospital Westchester, located in Harrison, New York, went to the defendant’s apartment for a scheduled visit.

During that visit, the defendant became angry at the victim and attacked her.

The defendant used a knife and repeatedly stabbed and slashed the victim about the face, the neck, chest and abdomen.

Following the attack, the defendant called 9-1-1 and told police what he had done.

White Plains Police responded to the apartment and arrested the defendant.

The victim was taken to the Westchester Medical Center and underwent numerous surgeries that saved her life but left her with permanent physical injuries and scars despite plastic surgery.

The defendant faces a maximum sentence of 25 years in state prison when sentenced on August 23, 2012.

Assistant District Attorney Timothy Ward, Chief of the Career Criminal Bureau, prosecuted the case.
