Tuesday, March 20 at 1:14 a.m. marked the beginning of the spring or vernal equinox in the Northern hemisphere.
According to The Old Farmer’s Almanac’s website, the vernal equinox is when days and nights are equal at about 12 hours each. Spring also signals the renewal of nature as worms and bugs begin to appear, plants bud and bloom, and birds begin to sing.
