White Plains Schools Budgets Nearly $209 Million for 2016-17
Tax levy increase is set at one quarter percent
The White Plains City School District has adopted a budget for 2016-2017 that includes an increase of 1.43% over the budget for 2015-16. The total budget is $2,950,000 for the school year.
The budget calls for a tax levy increase of 0.24 percent.
Enrollment is projected to be down for the 20016-17 year, dropping slightly from 7,099 to 7,053.

“Our goal this year, during a challenging economic environment, was to strike an appropriate balance between the concerns of taxpayers and to maintain a cohesive and effective instructional program,” said Dr. Paul R. Fried, superintendent of schools, in an open letter to the community.
