Cinderella at The Ridgefield Playhouse

Westchester County Park Passes Now Available

• Enjoy more than 50 recreational facilities this summer, from pools and beaches, parks and golf courses, to nature preserves, an amusement park and a working farm with a county park pass. Available to any county resident age 12 and older. One park pass holder can bring two adults and children under age 12 into all county swimming facilities with regular admission fees that apply to each guest. 
• When/Where: Passes are available seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at all six county-owned golf courses: Dunwoodie and Sprain Lake in Yonkers, Hudson Hills in Ossining, Maple Moor in White Plains, Mohansic in Yorktown Heights, and Saxon Woods in Scarsdale; and at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation in Cross River. Passes are also issued weekdays (Monday through Friday only) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Westchester County Center in White Plains and at the parks department’s administrative offices at 450 Saw Mill River Road in Ardsley.
• Price: Individual pass is $60 and is valid for three years.  A Family Park Pass is available for families who need to purchase two or more park passes, and costs $120, which covers two adult passes plus passes for any children ages 12 through 18 living at home. Senior Citizen Park Passes for adults age 60 and older and disabled residents are $60.  Click here for more information.

Lasdon Park & Arboretum’s 21st Annual Plant Sale

Violinist Daisy Jopling

• Why Go:  Peekskill resident and world-renowned classical-rock violinist Daisy Jopling performs with her band in an electrifying new program. The dynamic musician will even give the first printing of her new album—not yet heard by anybody—to anyone who brings 10 people to the show.

Jazz at Dobbs Ferry Library

• Why Go: Vocalist Joan Crowe will perform in the second in a series of concerts to showcase jazz and the American Songbook. Joan Crowe is a versatile singer with an extensive repertoire and a unique comic ability. She opened for Joe Lovano in 2002 and has played with Jesters of Jive, singing music of jazz masters of wit like Fats Waller, Cab Calloway, Louis Jordan and others. She has performed in the Jazz Standard, the Iridium Jazz Club, Sweet Rhythm and Birdland and produced several CDs.

The St. Patrick’s Carnival and Raffle in Bedford

Art of Having a Baby: Maternity Fair 

• When/Where:  Sunday, May 20, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.at the main lobby
• Why Go:  In its second annual Maternity Fair, the Hospital’s lobby will be filled with more than 30 vendors offering services from child care to photography to the latest in baby furniture and gadgets. The day will also feature tours of the hospital’s Maternity Department and workshops to educate parents on how to choose a birthing style that is right for them; nutrition in pregnancy and the importance of breastfeeding. Parents can talk to physicians and midwives who will be on hand to answer questions and there will be a children’s corner with activities for the little ones. Enjoy the main event—a maternity fashion show hosted by WHUD’s Kacey Morabito Grean.

Asian American Heritage Festival

• When/Where:  Saturday, May 19, 12 noon at in Valhalla
• Why Go: OCA is a national organization dedicated to advancing the social, political, and economic well-being of Asian Pacific Americans.  This is the 14^th Annual Asian-American Heritage Festival—a family fun day featuring Asian dance, martial arts, musical performances, arts and cultural exhibits and ethnic food. The festival will feature the Chinese, Indian, Korean, Japanese, Filipino, Indonesian, Malaysian, and Burmese cultures. Enjoy children's entertainment & games - face painting, balloon sculpture, Chinese paper cutting, and origami.

Puppet Production of The Wizard of Oz

• When/Where:  Sunday, May 20, 2 p.m. at
• Why Go:  Students of Jan Aiello, art educator at Hendrick Hudson High School will perform a puppet show with shadow puppets and marionettes of their own creation, based on “The Wizard of Oz.” The production will re-create the Baum story in a modern setting, using modern language and style.

TennisFest 2012

• Why Go: The United States Professional Tennis Association – Eastern Division is organizing the event which will include instruction by certified teaching professionals, USTA 10 and Under Tennis, and a range of activities, tournaments, fitness programming and games for juniors and adults.  Bring the family for a day of tennis fun.
