YMCA of Central and Northern Westchester Welcomes New Members to its Board of Governors
Community leaders join the Y to help strengthen youth, families, and communities across Westchester and Putnam counties.
White Plains, NY - The YMCA of Central and Northern Westchester is proud to announce the appointment of Edie Magnus and Marijo Murphy to its Board of Governors. Both bring a wealth of professional expertise and a deep commitment to community service that align with the YMCA’s core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
Edie Magnus is an Emmy and Murrow Award-winning journalist with more than 25 years of experience. Beyond journalism, she has served as Executive Director of Media & Innovation at Mercy University, where she taught communications and guided media strategy. Edie remains active in nonprofit leadership and continues her work in education, media, and advocacy, making her an inspiring voice for positive change.
Marijo Murphy is a proven leader with nearly 30 years of experience at New York Life Insurance Company, guiding teams through complex regulatory, compliance, and business challenges. Recently, she redirected her career toward nonprofit law, where she provides direct support to families and individuals in need. Her dedication to fairness, integrity, and service reflects the very best of the YMCA’s mission.
