WILLIAMSBURG, NY — A bouncer at a Williamsburg nightspot was stabbed to death while at work last week, police said.

Laurence Hopkins, 61, was working at the Garden Bar & Grill in East Williamsburg when a coworker tried to squeeze past two customers, starting an argument, cops said.

When Hopkins tried to de-escalate the argument, one of the customers pulled out a knife, stabbing him in the neck, police said.

The stabbing was so brutal the knife lacerated his neck so deep it cut through his tongue, the New York Daily News reported.

Police found Hopkins outside the bar on Graham Ave. near Johnson Ave. at about 1:10 a.m. Feb. 10. Hopkins was taken to NYC Health and Hospitals/Woodhull, where he was later pronounced dead.

Police seized the murder weapon, released video evidence of the crime, and are working to apprehend the individuals involved.

On Monday, police also released photos of the man they believe killed Hopkins.
