Chinese Restaurant Worker Arrested in Fatal Stabbing

Lan Shui Yu of Sunset Park knew the man she stabbed Monday night in front of her workplace, police say.

SUNSET PARK, BROOKLYN — A Sunset Park woman stabbed a Dyker Heights resident to death Monday in front of the 8th Avenue Chinese restaurant where she worked, police alleged.

Lan Shui Yu, 35, who lives on the 700 block of 57th Street, allegedly stabbed Jian-Yang Zhang, 41, in his back and neck in front of Lucky Zhang’s Family Grocery Corp. just after 10 p.m. Monday night.

Zhang was rushed to Maimonides Medical Center but succumbed to his injuries, police said.

A spokesman for the NYPD told Patch that Yu was acquainted with her victim.

Yu was arrested around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday and charged with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon, according to the NYPD.
