Golden Farms Boycott Re-Launches in Kensington Saturday

Rally to announce re-launch of boycott hits Kensington Saturday.

Workers, community members, Assemblyman Alan Maisel and New York Communities for Change will gather to announce the re-launch of a boycott at Golden Farms grocery store in Kensington Saturday at 2 p.m.

According to Golden Farms workers, they are announcing the re-launch of their boycott because of stalled bargains with store owner Sonny Kim. The community lifted the first boycott after the owner agreed to bargain.

A total of 250 workers have sued for back wages at 46 stores in New York City; 42 of them in Brooklyn. The campaign has won $1.3 million in recovered wages.
