Kensington Man Gets 25 Years In Prison For Killing Landlord With Samurai Sword
Rasel Siddiquee was arrested at the airport before he could leave the country.

KENSINGTON, BROOKLYN — A Kensington man will spend the next 25 years of his life behind bars after he fatally stabbed his landlord with a samurai sword, prosecutors said Thursday.
The killing happened in January of 2014, according to the Brooklyn District Attorney's Office. Rasel Siddiquee, 31, was inside of his apartment on McDonald Avenue, between Church Avenue and Avenue C, prosecutors said.
He was in the basement with his landlord, Mahiuddin Mahmud, the D.A.'s office said. Siddiquee was holding the sword, and he got angry over a pedicab license that had arrived in the mail, prosecutors said.

So he started slashing Mahmud with the sword, and when he fell to the ground, Siddiquee continued slicing at his neck, the D.A.'s office said.
Two days later, Mahmud was arrested at Kennedy Airport before he could board a flight to Bangladesh, prosecutors said.
