UPDATE: Man Arrested in 40th St. Murder

Update: Monday, Oct. 15, 9:33 a.m.: 

The murder victim has been identified as 28-year-old Obedo Tum.

Arcadio Perez, 49, was arrested and charged with murder in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

A man was pronounced dead after suffering a stab wound just before midnight on Friday, according to police.

Officers of the 66th Precinct responded to a 911 call on Friday, October 12 at approximately 11:35 p.m., that a man had been stabbed on 40th Street between 13th and 14th avenues.

Upon arriving at the scene, a Hispanic male with one a stab wound to the stomach was confirmed by cops, who immediately called emergency medical services.

After examination by the response unit, the victim was pronounced dead on arrival.
