WINDSOR TERRACE, BROOKLYN — The NYC Department of Transportation wants to add two short bike lanes in Windsor Terrace.
A DOT proposal would add the bike lanes to 10th Avenue between Prospect Park Southwest and 18th Street and on 11th Avenue between Prospect Park Southwest and McDonald Avenue.
The DOT will first make its pitch to Community Board 7's transportation committee next Monday, June 19, at 6:30 p.m. at P.S. 154. That meeting is open to the public.

Those two lanes would give Windsor Terrace cyclists at least some dedicated biking space in their neighborhood. Here's what the bike network in the area looks like on the most recent DOT cycling map:

That peach line on Prospect Park Southwest represents a bike route marked by sign only. The green dots are for "potential future bicycle routes."

In summary: the neighborhood is pretty barren when it comes to dedicated biking space.
And Community Board 7 isn't exactly receptive to bike lane proposals. They initially voted against a portion of a dedicated bike lane on Seventh Avenue running from 15th Street to the cemetery but eventually came around.
And a proposal to add a parking-protected bike lane on both sides of Fourth Avenue all the way from Barclays Center down to Bay Ridge is already coming under fire from some on the board.
