Not So Fast, Forest Hills: Spider-Man Lives in Windsor Terrace

The Amazing Spider-Man has been well-received by critics and audience members alike, but residents of Windsor Terrace may have an extra incentive to check out the film: your house may be in it.

While Peter Parker technically hails from Forest Hills, Queens, many of the movie's exterior shots were actually taken on Fuller Place in our own Windsor Terrace, the Daily News reports.

Mike Fantasia, the film's supervising location manager, told the paper that it's hardly uncommon for production staff to paint one location as another.

“But we had to use that block ... it has some great brick houses for the movie’s establishing shots," he said.

While filming for those trying to park their cars, many Brooklynites derive a sense of satisfaction from seeing their streetscapes in the limelight. 

"Dog Day Afternoon," Sidney Lumet's 1975 tour de force thriller was shot almost exclusively on Prospect Park West between 17th and 18th streets. Neighborhood institution was featured in the 1997 Jack Nicholson dramedy "As Good As it Gets," as well as the Ed Harris film "Pollock," according to the blog Icky in Brooklyn.
