Park Slope Denim Store to Open in August

The Turkish denim store Mavi Jeans is set to open two outposts on Fifth Avenue and Union Street in August, DNAinfo reported Monday.

The 2,400 square-foot space in Park Slope will be Mavi's first in Brooklyn. The brand, which sells men's and women's denim as well as denim kitchen products, has stores throughout the United States, Canada, Germany and Turkey.

"It is an area where the Mavi customer lives and works," a Mavi spokeswoman said of Park Slope. "We are going to use the new store to test various product assortments and retail environments, to better gauge how the U.S. consumer shops."
