Is The Pavilion Finally Ready for its Close-Up?
The theater has been promising change for some time. But is it enough?

The Pavilion Theater is trying to clean up its act, this time using social media to assure the skeptical public that it is, in fact, improving.
In light of recent statements on the theater's Facebook page that big changes are afoot, Windsor Terrace resident Steve LeVine took to Twitter to question Pavilion staff about what, specifically, it was doing to salvage its reputation around town.
The cinema, which uses the Twitter handle @ThePavilionBK, acknowledged that it has made some mistakes in the past, but is trying to convince its customers that it's now worthy of a five-star review.

“We know we’ve left a very bitter taste in our customers mouths, but we are doing A LOT to finally fix it!” reads the first of a series of tweets on the the theater's forthcoming changes.
According to Twitter exchange, which can be read in its entirety on the Pavilion's Tumblr page, the theater has replaced its tattered purple seats, renovated the concession stands, installed new carpet throughout and poured $80,000 toward the construction of an upstairs cafe.

The tweets also state that theater personnel are still working on fixing the ceiling tiles, sprinkler system, final interior colors and the "staff’s ability to provide the highest level of customer service which includes cleaning frequently."
Though the 80-year-old space has supposedly , many patrons remain unimpressed with the Pavilion's efforts, leaving some to lament that what could be a charming local movie house has been destroyed by negligent management.
On top of broken chairs and decrepit bathrooms, the theater also had to contend with the longstanding rumor that it was infested with bed bugs.
While Levine did not specifically ask about the bed bug issue, the Pavilion, perhaps a bit self-conscious, addressed it anyway.
"For the record -there is no record,actual case or judgement of BEDBUGS @ The Pavilion!" read the tweet. "Rumors; the city would require exterminators."
