Ignition Ripped from Rental Truck on Second Avenue

A 33-year-old man discovered an unpleasant surprise one Sunday afternoon when he went to move his rental truck and discovered it was missing a key part of the operation: its ignition. 

The man told police he parked the Budget rental truck at 9:30 p.m. on July 27 on Second Avenue between 10th and 9th streets. When he returned to the truck at 2 p.m. the next day, he saw the passenger side window was broken and the ignition of the truck was removed. There were no cameras in the nearby area.

Donnell Barden, 42, of Flatbush, was arrested yesterday on charges that he encouraged his pit bull to attack a Lab/Husky mix in Prospect Park on May 17, then pulled out a knife and stabbed the Lab/Husky nine times.
