A look back at the notable events of the past week.

Happy Sunday, everyone. We hope you enjoyed the respite from the scalding weather—particularly since the heat is expected to kick back up again toward the middle of the week.

With no further ado, here's our weekly look back over the past few days:

Monday:

Tuesday:

The owners of the Park Slope eatery Alchemy are working their magic on Windsor Terrace, turning the former Oak and the Iris space . The owners are in the process of renovating the building's interior, and the restaurant is expected to open sometime in September.

Wednesday:

Each Wednesday, Fairway Market sends a shuttle to the former Key Food site on Prospect Avenue to take car-less shoppers to their supermarket in Red Hook. The problem? Windsor Terrace residents aren't biting. .

Thursday:

Church Avenue's newest business is called "Famous Jewelery & Gifts," and indeed, it sells those items in abundance—as well as many, many others. of some of the things you can expect to find at the new store.

Friday:

One Windsor Terrace block could be the greenest of them all. The Ad Hoc Gardening Committee of Prospect Park Southwest, whose block is bounded by Prospect Park Southwest between 11th Avenue and 16th Street, was one of the 41 blocks from around the borough for the Brooklyn Botanic Garden's annual "Greenest Block in Brooklyn" competition. Winners will be announced in August.
