Lottery Opens: Affordable Townhomes To Own With Accessory Apts To Rent
Each of the 8 new townhomes, in Somers, consists of a 3-bed/2-bath ownership unit and a 1-bed/1-bath rental unit.

SOMERS, NY — Yet another new chance for potential homeowners and renters to combat the affordable housing crisis is here for a lucky few.
The Housing Action Council announced that Hidden Meadow, a newly constructed development in the Town of Somers, will have eight affordable townhomes set aside. Each of the townhomes consists of a three-bedroom ownership unit and a one-bedroom rental unit.
The three-bedroom/two-bathroom ownership units, priced at $275,000, for a 1,333-square-foot space, will be available to those at or below 80 percent of the Westchester County area median income based on household size. In order to qualify, a three-person household can have a maximum income of $112,500; a four-person household can have a maximum income of $124,950; a five-person household can have a maximum income of $134,950, and a six-person household can have a maximum income of $144,950. The minimum household size is three, and the home must a primary residence. The minimum income is estimated at $98,000.

The one-bedroom/one-bathroom rental, priced at $1,389 monthly for a 727-square-foot space, will be available to households at or below 60 percent of the Westchester County area median income. One-person households can earn a maximum of $65,600 annually, and two-person households can earn a maximum of $74,950 annually. The tenant will be responsible for all utilities: gas heating, electric cooking and general electric.
Hidden Meadow is a development of 45 townhomes, located on Muscoot River Road, off of Route 6 in Somers. According to the Housing Action Council, the development "offers serene privacy, bordered by a Town of Somers Park to the East and historic Stonewall Farm to the South." Hidden Meadow is located close to restaurants, shops and public use areas.

The deadline for ownership and rental applications is January 27,2025. The lottery for the three-bedroom townhomes will take place on February 6, 2025, while the lottery for the one-bedroom rental units will take place on February 7 2025.
