Plan For Senior Housing At Vacant Blue Book HQ Gets Zoning Approval
The proposal for the site includes preserving over 26 acres as open space, along with the construction of apartment buildings.

YORKTOWN, NY — The Yorktown Town Board approved a rezoning request to replace the former headquarters of the Blue Book Network with 55-plus housing.
New York City-based AMS Acquisitions plans to transform the vacant office complex at 800 E. Main St. into a campus with 180 rental apartments.
The project is envisioned as a way to revitalize the property, generating increased property tax revenue for both the town and the local school district without adding to the student population.

The development is also expected to create new construction jobs and boost nearby small businesses.
"This rezoning marks a significant step forward in adding value to a currently underutilized property," Yorktown Supervisor Ed Lachterman said. "This redevelopment will not only increase the Town’s property tax revenues but also provide a much-needed housing option for our empty nesters who wish to remain in Yorktown as they downsize from their single-family homes."

The AMS Acquisitions proposal for the East Main Street site includes preserving over 26 acres as open space, and the construction of two multi-family buildings in the same location as the existing office buildings. The complex will include interior amenity spaces for a clubhouse area, a fitness center, a spa, a screening room, a sports lounge, a reading room, and an art studio. Exterior amenities will include a pool and a barbeque area, sports courts and walking trails, according to the proposal.
