Woman, Accused In Domestic Dispute, Skips Court: Police

On top of two bench warrants, the woman was charged with jumping bail.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Mohegan Lake woman was arrested after being accused of failing to appear in court to answer charges in May.

The Yorktown Police Department said Tara Mann Feldman, 43, of Mohegan Lake, was charged with two bench warrants for failing to appear.

Police said, on May 11, she didn’t show for a scheduled court appearance in the Yorktown Justice Court regarding second-degree criminal contempt, fourth-degree criminal mischief, second-degree unlawful imprisonment, endangering the welfare of a child and third-degree attempted assault, all misdemeanors.

In March, Feldman was accused of taking a woman’s cell phone, during a domestic incident, police said. She also prevented the victim from calling the police, blocked the front door and prevented her from leaving the home, law enforcement said.

Feldman also struck the woman in the head with a Swiffer sweeper, according to authorities.

On Sunday, the Peekskill Police Department said they had Feldman in custody from an unrelated vehicle and traffic stop.

Two Yorktown officers responded to the stop and took her to police headquarters.

Police said it had been 30 days since both of the bench warrants were issued so Feldman was additionally charged with third-degree bail jumping.

After processing, she was arraigned and sent to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail, $10,000 bond or $15,000 partially secured bond.

Feldman is next to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court Thursday.
