Woman Caught Driving After License Suspended 5 Times: Police

Police said they saw the woman driving faster than the posted speed limit.

YORKTOWN, NY — A woman from Peekskill was accused of driving without a license after being stopped for speeding.

The Yorktown Police Department said Vanessa M. Bermeo, 28, of Peekskill, was arrested and charged Thursday with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, an unclassified misdemeanor, and speed in zone, a traffic infraction.

Police said, around 7:30 p.m. Thursday, officers on patrol on Route 6 in the area of Mountain Brook Road when they said they saw a vehicle traveling west faster than the posted speed limit.

A traffic stop was conducted, and it was found that Bermeo’s privilege to drive had been suspended five separate times.

She was issued two uniform traffic tickets at the scene and released on her own recognizance to appear in Yorktown Justice Court Feb 6.
