Yorktown Changes Garbage Pickup For MLK Jr. Holiday
The town is still picking up Christmas trees as well.
YORKTOWN, NY — With the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday on Monday, Yorktown has altered its garbage collection schedule for the week.
For kitchen refuse:
- Monday collections will picked up Tuesday, Jan. 16.
- Tuesday collections will be picked up Wednesday, Jan. 17.
- All other collections will remain the same.

- All other collections will remain the same.
Christmas trees are still being collected.
Weather permitting, collections will take place on the following dates:

- Sections 1 & 7: Jan. 16
- Section 6: Jan. 17
- Sections 2 & 3: Jan. 18
- Sections 4 & 5: Jan. 11, 19
For condo and apartment collection:

All ornaments, lights and metal must be removed. Do not place trees in plastic bags. Artificial trees must be put out with bulk trash.
