• Man charged after reported shoplifting at Burlington leads to Aberdeen pursuit (sandhillssentinel.com) — Aberdeen police have charged a Fayetteville man after a reported shoplifting at Burlington led to a vehicle pursuit through an Aberdeen residential area last month. Officers say the driver fled on foot, was later identified through investigation, and was ultimately arrested in Wake County, with multiple traffic and larceny-related charges now pending. 
• CVB approves $1 million in tourism grants (sandhillssentinel.com) — A $1 million round of tourism grants from the Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Aberdeen Area CVB includes funding for the Town of Aberdeen, supporting projects meant to boost visitors and quality of life. Ten Moore County organizations, from schools to arts groups and airports, will share the awards, with future tourism tax revenue expected to fund even larger regional projects.
