Ten schools in North Carolina have been honored by the National PTA for excellence. Here's a list of the winners.

NORTH CAROLINA — Ten schools in North Carolina have been honored by the National PTA for excellence.

The schools are winners of the National PTA School of Excellence award, a two-year title that recognizes outstanding partnerships between local PTAs and schools "to build an inclusive and welcoming school-community where all families contribute to enriching the educational experience and overall well-being for all students."

To be considered for this honor, a school and its PTA unit must commit to working together to set and meet goals for improving family engagement.

List of North Carolina "School of Excellence" award winners:

  • Erwin Montessori Elementary — Greensboro
  • Lynn Road Elementary — Raleigh
  • Morehead Elementary — Greensboro
  • Morgan Elementary — Clemmons
  • New Town Elementary — Waxhaw
  • Northern Elementary — Greensboro
  • Parkland Magnet High School — Winston Salem
  • Penn-Griffin School for the Arts — High Point
  • Seventy-First High School — Fayetteville
  • Stoney Point Elementary — Fayetteville

The schools will receive a banner to display celebrating this national recognition.
