$2M Winning Powerball Ticket Sold Online In North Carolina

The winner of the $2 million Powerball ticket bought online has 180 days to claim it, lottery officials said Thursday.

NORTH CAROLINA — Someone in North Carolina could be $2 million richer today, according to lottery officials, who announced a winning Powerball ticket was recently purchased online.

"Wednesday's Powerball drawing produced a $2 million prize for someone who bought a ticket through Online Play on the lottery's website," NC Education Lottery said Thursday.

The winning numbers for the Aug. 26 drawing we 8-12-19-47-58, NCEL said. The odds of winning, say lottery officials were one in 11.6 million.

No one won the jackpot in Wednesday's drawing, so it climbed to $47 million for the next drawing on Saturday, Aug. 29.
