Bird Rarely Seen, Photographed On Ocracoke Island

A bird rarely seen was spotted flying on Ocracoke Island in North Carolina, according to the Cape Hatteras National Seashore.

NORTH CAROLINA — A bird rarely seen was recently spotted flying in North Carolina, according to the Cape Hatteras National Seashore.

Park Biologist B. Ranelli snapped a picture of a Masked Booby on Ocracoke Island. The unusual visitor was found Tuesday on Ocracoke Island, although it’s usually seen in the tropical ocean. Click here for a photo.

Cape Hatteras National Seashore said the bird probably ended up in the area due to Tropical Storm Alex.
