• Sheriff's office names deputy, detention officer of the year - The Stanly News & Press (thesnaponline.com) — Albemarle residents are being urged to check out a new “Frauds and Scam” section in the Stanly County Sheriff’s Office mobile app, created to warn locals about phone and online schemes. The sheriff’s office also honored Deputy Roddy White and Detention Officer Jessie Huneycutt as 2025 officers of the year and thanked Smith’s Home Furnishings for hosting the Shop with a Cop holiday event.
