While the town touts added amenities and transit connections, many residents remain worried about worsening traffic on NC 55 and are watching closely as Apex and NCDOT plan road improvements.
   

• Apex (NC) Utilities on Steadier Ground as 2025 Closes, Town Manager Says (hollyspringsupdate.com) — Apex’s town manager says local utilities are ending 2025 on steadier ground, with water meter replacements finished and electric upgrades well underway. Billing cycles have normalized, variance reports plunged, and three-quarters of the customer backlog is resolved, though solar customers may see issues into early 2026 as the town finishes rolling out new meters.
   

• ICE agents once again operating in NC, activists say, including arrests in Durham (citizen-times.com) — Immigration advocates report that federal agents have been operating this week in several North Carolina cities, including Apex, as part of what they believe is a large monthlong ICE enforcement effort. The group Siembra NC says agents have been visible around the Triangle and Triad, and alleges multiple arrests in Durham, while state House Speaker Destin Hall publicly criticizes the organization’s response. Federal officials have declined to confirm specific operations.
