Majority of homes get water back after large outage in Asheville (wyff4.com) — Hundreds of Asheville homes, especially in Haw Creek, lost water today after unusually cold weather caused multiple water line breaks, but most service has now been restored. City crews are working late into the night on remaining repairs while coordinating with a gas utility to safely fix one last line, so a small number of customers may still see low or intermittent flow.

Convicted WNC drug trafficker sentenced to over 20 years (foxcarolina.com) — From a federal courtroom in Asheville, prosecutors announced a 21-year prison sentence for a Candler man who trafficked meth and fentanyl across Buncombe and Jackson counties. Investigators say he was caught with drugs, cash, and multiple illegal firearms, including a pistol fitted with a conversion device, underscoring ongoing regional concerns about violent drug activity.
3. Home Depot courts creators, East Fork announces $2.5 million expansion, and more (businessofhome.com) — East Fork Pottery is investing $2.5 million to expand its main production facility in Asheville, adding 30,000 square feet and 40 new jobs while aiming to double output in three years.
