CORNELIUS, NC β€” Girl Scout Cookie season is here, and you may be wondering how to get your hands on a box of Thin Mints, Samoas or other favorites.

Girl Scouts kicked off the 2021 cookie season with socially-distant and contact-free ways to purchase due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Options include virtual cookie booths, drive-thru locations, shipping, and delivery orders through a new national collaboration with Grubhub.

Online cookie ordering launched nationwide on Feb. 1 so cookie lovers who don't know a Girl Scout can still purchase cookies from a local troop with direct shipment to their homes. In Davidson, residents can contact a local Girl Scout, order online from Troop 2513, Troop 739, Troop 1180 or visit a booth on upcoming dates for the Girl Scouts Hornets' Nest Council.

"We're proud of the resourceful ways Girl Scouts are running their cookie businesses safely and using their earnings to make the world a better place," said Judith Batty, interim CEO of Girl Scouts of the USA, in a statement. "This season, our girls will continue to exemplify what the cookie program taught themβ€”how to think like entrepreneurs, use innovative sales tactics, and pivot to new ways of doing business when things don't go according to plan."

This year, Girl Scouts are debuting the Toast-Yay cookie, available in select markets. This toast-shaped cookie has French toast flavor dipped in icing and stamped with the Girl Scouts' trefoil. Girl Scout Cookie sales help fund programs, experiences, and learning for Girl Scouts and their troops throughout the year. Not only do these programs teach the Girl Scouts life skills, but the sales themselves teach them business skills.
