Inspectors cited issues like improper food temperatures, old boiled eggs, handwashing lapses, and equipment cleanliness. Other Triangle counties mostly saw A grades, but Durham diners may want to double-check recent scores.
   

2. Duke University Hospital nurse accused of sexually assaulting 3rd patient (abc11.com) — Authorities in Durham say a Duke University Hospital nurse is now accused of sexually assaulting a third patient, with incidents alleged to have occurred while patients were incapacitated. The 39-year-old Durham resident faces multiple criminal charges, has had his nursing license suspended, and has been placed on administrative leave while the investigation continues.
   

3. Several shots fired, hitting Durham apartment and car in drive-by shooting, witness says (cbs17.com) — Durham police are investigating a drive-by shooting that damaged an apartment and a parked car at University Ridge Apartments on University Drive Tuesday afternoon. Witnesses reported several shots fired from a stopped car that then sped away, and officers interviewed residents at the scene; no injuries were reported.
   

4. Novo Nordisk gets landmark obesity pill approved, with NC site core to production (heraldsun.com) — Novo Nordisk’s new FDA-approved Wegovy weight-loss pill will rely heavily on production in North Carolina, including its tablet facility in north Durham. The company has shifted its Triangle operations to support the launch, building on major investments in Johnston County and creating a significant local pharmaceutical jobs hub as demand for GLP-1 medications grows.
   

5. Wendell woman detained by Border Patrol released and will return to North Carolina, family says (wral.com) — Federal immigration agents recently operated in Wake and Durham counties, with most activity in Durham, where Border Patrol detained construction worker Fatima Velasquez-Antonio in November. Her family now says she’s been released from a Georgia detention center and is flying back to North Carolina, though she still faces an uncertain legal fight to remain in the country.
