3rd Special Forces Group Soldier Dies from Wounds Sustained in Afghanistan

The Department of Defense reported a 3rd Special Forces Group soldier has died from injuries he suffered last month when his unit from Fort Bragg was attacked in Afghanistan.

The department said 38-year-old Master Sgt. Gregory R. Trent of Norton, Mass., died Wednesday at Walter Reed in Bethesda, Md. The Department of Defense said Trent was wounded July 31 when his unit came under fire in Baktabad.

Trent was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) at Fort Bragg in North Carolina.
