Army Captain Accused in Plot to Kill Former Wife

An officer in the 82nd Airborne, 18th Fires Brigade was arrested Saturday at his  residence on Bozeman Loop, outside of Fort Bragg's Yadkin Road entrance.

According to Sunday's Fayetteville Observer news report, Capt. John Kurt Thompson is being held on $50,000 bail at the Cumberland County Detention Center for allegations of his involvement in a murder plot against his former wife, Lauren Thompson.

Public Affairs officials at Fort Bragg were not available on Sunday for comments.
