Consumer Alert Warning from County Detectives
Public Media Release by Cumberland County Sheriff's Office

IF IT’S TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE – IT PROBABLY IS!
That’s the word Cumberland County Sheriff’s Detectives want the local community to be aware of when being approached by so-called independent electronics dealers.
Investigators say a group of people who claim to have the inside scoop on half-priced, name-brand stereo equipment and other home electronics, are targeting Cumberland County and the City of Fayetteville. They approach unsuspecting shoppers claiming to have an inferior, top-of-the-line product that is a quick sale due to production overstock by different companies.

Detectives say the products are not name brand. They are knock off products that are, in most cases, not worth the price. The sellers are hawking a product known as “Epic Surround Sound Systems.” They try to talk potential buyers into purchasing the setup for a fraction of the cost found in stores.
DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SALES PITCH!
