Countryside Gymnastics Celebrates National Gymnastics Day

Families and gymnasts gather for a day of play and light competition.

Youth of all ages were flipping and flying through the air on Saturday afternoon to honor National Gymnastics Day at Countryside Gymnastics.

Some families joined in the fun competing with their gymnastic competing for top spot by doing the most push ups, sit ups, pull ups, sprints and box jumps in one minute on each event.

At the end of the event lasting from noon until 4p.m., hand stand contests took place and the winners of the team event were announced.

Jack and Maryln Hester have owned and run the family-owned business since 1988. As one might expect, they have seen an uptick in enrollment since the Summer Olympic games.

"Watching the kids work hard, up to the competitive teams is one of my memorable stories," shared Maryln. "They've come in young and excel, it's fun to watch."
