Expect Artillery Sounds from Marines Through the End of October

The 10th Marine Regiment is training at Fort Bragg around the clock through Oct. 25.

FORT BRAGG, N.C. - The 10th Marine Regiment from Marine Corps Base Camp
Lejeune, N.C., will be firing artillery on Fort Bragg, Oct. 11-25 as they
conduct their bi-annual training. This will occur throughout the daylight
and nighttime hours.
"It's important to notify our neighbors that the 10th Marine
Division artillery units will be training at Fort Bragg for the greater part
of this month," said Wolf Amacker, Fort Bragg Range Control chief of
operations.  "This training with 155 mm ammunition will be in significant
volume and duration to be heard outside the installation, especially the
western and southern areas adjoining Fort Bragg and during times when the
ceiling is unusually low."
Amacker said the Marines will observe installation restrictions on
mass firing between the hours of 11 p.m.-5 a.m. daily and between 10
a.m.-noon on Sundays.
