Selectees will be required to submit a complete credentialing packet within 10 days of job offer. Instructions will be provided by the local credentialing office. Federal employees in Alaska are currently entitled to receive a non-taxable, 5.57% Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) in addition to the base salary. Federal employees in Hawaii are currently entitled to receive a non-taxable, 12.25% Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) in addition to the base salary. For overseas positions, in addition to the basic salary, an employee may be eligible for Post Allowance. Post Allowance is paid to compensate in part for the higher price of many goods and services in overseas areas. It is based on the employee's salary, work schedule, number of dependents, and the employee's duty station location. Changes in exchange rates also raise or lower the post allowance since exchange rates affect the cost of goods and services bought on the economy. Post allowance is not taxable. The Army Substance Abuse Program (ASAP) is a mission critical program making a difference in the lives of returning soldiers and their family members. We need professionals to provide assessment and counseling in the treatment of substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. Together, we can make a difference.                                                                                                              DUTIES: You will serve as a Senior Social Worker for the Army Substance Abuse Program (ASAP), and handle cases with co-morbid diagnoses, which require more complex and multi-disciplinary treatment. You will perform bio-psychosocial evaluations and analyze data in making clinical assessments of patients who suffer from substance abuse. You will integrate information in a clear and concise manner to formulate accurate diagnostic impressions consistent with established criteria and standards. You will provide strategic interventions and relapse prevention counseling, and modify treatment plans to meet the changing needs of the client. You will provide individual, group and family psychotherapy. You will serve as the primary case manager, and perform qualitative and quantitative analyses of pertinent data for evaluation of patient progress. You will develop and implement orientation, and formal and informal training for patients, medical staff, and key unit personnel. You will ensure that all requirements for licensure and certification are maintained.
