Fort Bragg to Host Hiring Event for Soldiers, Family Members on Wednesday
The Army's hiring event is more of a program rather than a job fair to benefit its military members and families.

For many soldiers and families transitioning from Army life, one of the biggest, and scariest propositions, is finding a good paying job. A new initiative, Army Hiring Event, undertaken by the Army and Futures Inc., hopes to get soldiers into the civilian workforce, using many of the skills that were gained while in uniform.
On Wednesday, Aug. 29, representatives from some of the nation’s largest private corporations, including Merrill Lynch, Cisco, Walmart, Carmax, Xerox Services and many others, will meet with Soldiers and spouses for job interviews based on information provided by perspective employees. Job seekers have input their skills and training into a web-based application (usveteranspipeline.com) that marries individual skills with real jobs that companies are eager to fill.
“This is different than a job fair, we aren’t hosting companies who are accepting applications for jobs that might become available in the future. This is a different paradigm, in many cases, industry representatives at the Army Hiring Event will offer jobs based on the in-person interviews that will be conducted here Wednesday,” said Nan Sanders, Fort Bragg’s director of human resources.
